I saw an article on Google Checkout, purportedly a rival to PayPal:

For those who want to personally distribute downloadable software and might
have considered PayPal as a way to process payments (which payment would
trigger the release of an unlock key for the customer, allow access to a
server, or the like), can Google Checkout do the trick as well?
