Blekinge Institute of Technology, BTH, in Sweden aims to be an
attractive knowledge community
within applied IT and innovation for sustainable growth. The institute
has a unique combination of
technology and other areas such as economics, healthcare, humanities and
societal science. BTH
is carrying out education and research at a high international level.
Learning is in the centre for
students, teachers and researchers. BTH started in 1989 and has
approximately 7300 registered
students and 500 employees. BTH has full examination rights within
technology fields. BTH is
situated in Karslkrona, Ronneby and Karlshamn in the region of Blekinge,
and has a well developed
collaboration with industry and society, in both research and education
regionally, nationally and
internationally. Research constitutes one third of the total activity at
BTH. The main campus of BTH
is in Karlskrona. On the 1st of July 2010 the Ronneby campus will be
moved to Karlskrona. Since 1
of September 2008 BTH has been classified as a climate neutral
institute.

Blekinge Institute of Technology is searching for a University lecturer
in Computer Science

With placement at the section for Information and communication
technologies in Ronneby until
2010-06-30, and in Karlskrona from 2010-07-01.

Duties

The employment is primarily directed towards game development, game
engine architecture
and game interaction based on perspectives from human-machine
interaction and cognitive
science. The employee is expected to teach within game development,
computer science and
closely related areas, conduct research, supervise PhD students, apply
for external research
funding, collaborate with industry and participate in an ongoing EU
project on games for
competence development. Teaching will be in both Swedish and English. If
the employee
lacks good knowledge in Swedish and/or English then there will be an
expectation that this
will be learned.

Requirements

To be eligible for employment as a university lecturer the applicant
must have:

• 1. A PhD or equal scientific competence, or other working
experience that is valuable in
relation to the subject area of the employment and those
working tasks included in the employment.

• 2. Pedagogy training for higher education or otherwise equal
merits or knowledge and documented
pedagogical excellence and experience from teaching in higher
education at university level.

Evaluation criteria and the weighting:

Equal weight is placed on scientific and pedagogical excellence

Special emphasis will be placed upon one or more of:

• Experience of research, teaching and course development within
game engine architecture.
• Experience of game development in all forms, with a focus on 3D
programming and game engine design.
• Knowledge of methods for analysing gameplay based on psychology
and cognitive science.
• Experience of empirical research.
• Experience in national and international research projects.
• Quality and width of teaching experience; course development and
have carried out courses.
• Good knowledge in Swedish and English.

Employment: 100 %.

Starting date: After agreement.

Continuation: Permanent.
