I didn't mention iPhone because the original post asked for PC/console. But yes, iPhone development is a hot buzzword right now. The reason? Developer royalty rate is 70% (no advance, but on the bright side that means you start earning royalties as soon as you release... provided you can pay for your own development up front). Compare with a typical third-party developer deal, and you can see why this has received such attention :-)

Re: [game_edu] Publishing a Game For the iPhone is very simple. You can sell directly on the appstore or work with a publisher.
There is no standard rule that the publisher can set towards you.
