Thanks for the resources, George. Also, glad to hear Camtasia is working out for
you... I've been pretty happy with it so far as well.

FWIW, I have a few as well: a book on game design
(http://www.amazon.com/Challenges-Game-Designers-Brenda-Brathwaite/dp/158450580X/
- and my book is under $20 as well ;-), an intro game design course that
focuses on tabletop games (http://gamedesignconcepts.wordpress.com), and I put a
few course syllabi on the Ed SIG knowledge base wiki, back in the day
(http://wiki.igda.org/OU_TCOM_486_Game_Development ,
http://wiki.igda.org/OU_TCOM_486_A05_Game_Development ,
http://wiki.igda.org/OU_TCOM_486_Advanced_Game_Development ).

To be clear, the course this summer focuses on teaching game design, more than
game design itself. We'll therefore be looking at tabletop games that have
already been designed and exploring what works well (or not) in their designs,
as well as how to take the lessons learned and apply them to the design of
original games. So that's a little different than either of our previous work

:-)

- Ian

Readers interested in board game design may wish to take note of the Worcester
Polytechnic Institute course as taught for the past half-decade under various
names and numbers

IMGD 2500 Design of Tabletop Strategy Games

supported by my two books on game design (available at http://3mpub.com/phillies
and when is the last time you saw a textbook for under twenty American dollars?)

which actually teaches game design, primarily of Eurogames. I am planning on
doing a set of YouTube lectures as a support point, someday or another.

And, by the way, thanks to all of you who suggested Camtasia as the solution to
my software problem. It seems to work, though if on youtube you search out
"George Phillies Lectures" the learning curve through the third Lecture will be
extremely apparent.
