When I was still teaching in Computer Science and trying to get a game
development concentration installed, one of the theory guys said:
It sends the wrong message.
Not certain what she meant exactly, but the message I saw was that
studying computer science could be interesting and fun. She likely saw
it as frivolous, and in her opinion would negatively affect the
department's 'reputation'.
