[game_edu] game_edu Digest, Vol 85, Issue 7

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who are involved with k-12 game education I was hoping
to get an idea of the tools you use. For engine do you use things like
Unity and UDK or more along the lines of GameSalad or Flash? Also for 3D
content are you using Autodesk software like 3dsMax and Maya or
something free like Blender?

I ask because we are currently working on some new educational training
material for the K-12 sector and the input of instructors from that
level is crucial to ensure its quality.

We have also begun to do some train-the trainers type workshops for
educators in the K-12 sector. As Suzanne mentioned it is growing as fast
as higher education and we realize that for many cases that means
ramping up existing faculty to be able to teach these topics.

If any of you are interested in talking further about tools you use,
educational resources you would like to see, or training for faculty to
be able to instruct in game education feel free to get in touch at
joel at design3.com or give me a call at 831-479-GAME(4263)

Hope the new school year is starting well for all of you,
