[game_edu] Games in the Library

For console games, I've seen several schools that allow either checkouts at the library, or else have a dedicated game room where students can play.
 
Another thing to consider is zero-cost f2p games, as are often found on iOS, Facebook, or Flash portals; or freeware for PC. You don't get to analyze the big hits that way, but for the purposes of studying game design, sometimes a smaller, shorter game is better anyway.
