Assistant Professor of Interactive Media & Games, USC School of Cinematic Arts
The Interactive Media & Games Division within USC's School of Cinematic Arts is seeking a candidate for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Interactive Media and Games with a specialty in game studies.

We are looking for a scholar of game history, theory and criticism with a body of work that demonstrates the ability to advance the field with original and impactful thinking. Work may take the form of published writings, innovative forms of scholarship, research, design, curriculum or community engagement. Candidates should be able to reflect on the intersections of game design with other areas, especially cinema and narrative. Our program is a vibrant and exciting community of designers, scholars and researchers, committed to the advancement of the digital arts, and it is situated within a larger school dedicated to the craft of storytelling and user experience from diverse perspectives. Candidates should be prepared to teach game studies courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, with topics ranging from introductory history and theory to advanced critical theory and analysis. Advanced courses may follow research interests, including genre studies, transmedia theory or play theory.

Candidates should have a terminal degree related to the field. Formal teaching experience is preferred.
