[CIS PIDD] [cis-pidd] SubQ first dose

I usually have the home health care company do the training at home and give the first dose unless the patient had a serious reaction to IVIG, then we do at least one dose in our infusion center. The home health care companies train over 4 sessions and it is not easy for most of our patients to come to the hospital weekly.

Question to all...

It has been our tradition to always give a first dose of any new immunoglobulin product under medical supervision (i.e. not at home). I wonder how many people do that for subcutaneous products though. I think the risk of a reaction that needs medical attention is very low.

What do all of you do?
