Dear Colleagues,
I have a young man with WAS that developed fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. His symptoms quickly subsided. I ended up detecting enterovirus by PCR. He is being considered for a matched sib transplant which will include serotherapy. His serum PCR is still positive (qualitative). I was wondering how other individuals have managed peri-transplant enterovirus infections with respect to the timing of transplant. My inclination was to wait until he is negative.

Sincerely,

Dave Buchbinder, MD
