As the details of the VA Tech tragedy are released, there's one happier story that is making the rounds.

The student engeer at the campus radio station, WUVT, Kevin Sterne, was wounded during the shooting. He apparently was able to use an electrical cord as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding from his leg, which saved his life.

He is ok now.

There have been some questions raised about what can be done to support this young engineer. Barry Thomas contacted the station and has learned from William Glynn (station business manager) that the family and Kevin Sterne have requested that recognitions and donations can be made to the station. Donations should be noted as being for "Kevin" or "transmitter." Apparently, the station's transmitter is due to be replaced.
