It may be a joke but what would the company that employs this "ideal"
engineer offer to pay? It seems to me that both job descriptions are closer
to reality than not!

Looking for an experienced RF Engineer. If you want to grow your RF
or electronic skills, we have 4 FM's and 1 AM & 1 TV The closest
transmitter to the studio is 33 mi+ and travel from one site to
another is long. Knowledge of Prophet Automation, strong computer
skills, networks, broadcast routing systems , consoles, telephone
systems, copiers, HVAC, Roll around chairs, plumbing and desk
assembly desirable. You need a valid drivers license and ability to
lift 50 lbs. Will be on call 24 hours a day. This opportunity is
for someone who has proven troubleshooting skills and wants to
work! Experience in Electronics or Broadcast Engineering is a must.

Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position

Posting Date: 03/19/08

Position Description:
Protects the station license by assisting and participating in the
maintenance, installation, acquisition and modification of
broadcasting equipment.

Duties Include:
Preventative and corrective maintenance of all owned radio stations
and TV in the market. Scope of maintenance includes transmitters,
STL links, studio equipment, production studios, broadcast
automation computers and computer networks. Installing,
troubleshooting, repair and/or replacement of associated defective
broadcasting and computer hardware and software. Observe and
maintain adherence to FCC and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Interfaces with third-party vendors as directed. Assist with the
upkeep and compliance of operator and EAS logs. Emergency/on-call
engineering coverage. Work alone at transmitter sites and
studios(no backups here-sorry). Employee is expected to maintain a
presence in the main studioduring normal operating hours 8a-5:30p
with transmitter site work on evenings and weekends, cover remotes
on weekends and monitor transmitters 24 hours. This position
requires that the employee be on call 24 hours a day, respond
immediately!! to call situation and communicate call situations
with the GM. This may be modified according to the Program Director.

Selection Criteria:
Must have fifteen years minimum verifiable experience in the
performing of preventative & corrective maintenance and
installation of radio-TV broadcast transmitters and studio
automation systems. Must be on-call for on-site emergencies 24/7.
Must be able to obtain a TX valid drivers license and provide 4wd
vehicle,tools and test gear as needed.
