[SBE] FCC ADOPTS RULES FOR DELIVERY OF COMMERCIAL MOBILE ALERTS TO THE PUBLIC DURING EMERGENCIES

Well,

I mentioned about this earlier in the week. From what I gather, rather close to the source so to speak, is that the FCC indeed does intend to bypass broadcasters for targetted information. I suspect in the not too distant future, there will be automated EAS on broadcast stations that says something like "there is an emergency event occuring, please turn on your cell fone for GPS enabled warnings applicable to your current location". But, we can't participate more fully in that arena without digital enhancements that this industry seems intent to avoid.
