For the most part, earth curve paper is limited in its use at best.  In
order to gain a real understanding of a particular path, it's important to
plot K factor at two limits, say 4/3 and 2/3, and take a look at K=1 or
maybe 1/2, depending on where you are.  It's a lot easier to do this with
linear graph paper. 
I've probably run 500 or more path studies, and I don't think I've used 4/3
paper more than half a dozen times.
