[SBE] do a remote via phone line without the need for someone to run the board at the station.

I have done this in the past either using gpi, cue tones on sub
carriers, and or both. The main issue for you to remain legal is if you
operate unattended you have your broadcast transmitters set to shutdown
should they go out of tolerance and to pass through EAS information.

Most radio tv and or automaton and playists allow simple gpi
control...typically you setup the list so it has breaks and the list
stops while you do your remote portion. Then you feed your remote talent
and any gpi start cues down the line/microwave and they are decoded and
fed to where it starts the next segment...I have also used automatic
premising on inputs so that it dips the audio on the music if you are a
station that talks over the intros...

Subject: [SBE] do a remote via phone line without the need for someone

Does anyone know of a device that will allow a Radio broadcaster to do a
remote via phone line without the need for someone to run the board at
the station? The announcer calls the dedicated phone line and types in
the security code for the device. We use BE AudioVault automation for 2
radio stations and the County we operate in has asked us if we can set
this up for emergencies if we need to evacuate the station for emergency
announcements. They have kindly donated a generator to the station for
this purpose.

Thanks!
