[SBE] do a remote via phone line without the need for someone to run the board at the station.

We use the Sine DAI-2 at four different markets. The Sine has enough
relay contacts to control the automation systems by touch-tone for two
radio stations including switching the air monitor feed. We use one Sine
for an AM & FM in one market and another Sine for two FM's in another
market. The other two markets are stand alone FM's. The Sine works very
well for our purpose and we buy the optional delay board so no
touch-tones go on the air at the end of the remote, news or weather
break. At one station the college football games are run unattended, one
Saturday the relay commands from the network failed. The GM was out
doing errands, he started and ended the breaks using his cell phone
through the Sine DAI-2. Of course he knew the format clock by heart and
was able to keep the rest of the game running smoothly and not lose local
revenue. We do have VNC control too but we like to keep our presence at
client locations simple when on a remote and when you are chasing a
tornado or trying to stay ahead of it you don't have time to be typing
into the laptop. Richard Hardy

Does anyone know of a device that will allow a Radio broadcaster to
do a remote via phone line without the need for someone to run the
board at the station? The announcer calls the dedicated phone line
and types in the security code for the device. We use BE AudioVault
automation for 2 radio stations and the County we operate in has
asked us if we can set this up for emergencies if we need to
evacuate the station for emergency announcements. They have kindly
donated a generator to the station for this purpose.

Thanks!
