[SBE] SBE Membership Drive and Awards Deadline

Just a reminder that the SBE Membership Drive runs through May 31. Though
new members are welcome anytime, recruiting during the Drive gives each
member a chance to win some nice prizes and two chapters are recognized for
the best member participation measured by percentage.

 

Grand Prize is a Sony Bravia 1080i 40" HDTV plus an expense paid trip to the
SBE National Meeting in Madison, Wisconsin, October 14-15! Lots of other
great prizes too. Plus, each sponsoring member gets $5 off their 2009 SBE
membership renewal for each new member they recruit (maximum $25 off). New
prospects can sign up on line at http://www.sbe.org/join_indiv.php.
Applications received at the SBE National Office by midnight, May 31 are
eligible for the drawing and member renewal discounts.

 

Also, the SBE National Awards deadline has been extended to June 13. Each
year SBE recognizes a member as the SBE Broadcast Engineer of the Year and
another as Educator of the Year. We also present a Technology Award to a
company or individual. Chapters are recognized for Best Website, Best
Newsletter, Best Frequency Coordination Effort and in a handful of other
categories. Most of the awards are chosen from nominations received from the
membership or chapters (a few are by statistics kept by National). It
doesn't take much time to make a nomination. Why not recognize outstanding
achievement by nominating a member you know (or even yourself!) for one or
