  A WHOLE $20/hr? Where do I sign up? Let's see, as an independent
  contractor, you take 14.75% off the top for SS, and Medicare taxes,

  about another 20-30% or so for Uncle Sam, and that leaves you with
  not much
  to buy lunch and gas with....

  And if the contractor is properly insured and operating a legitimate
  business with all the associated costs he will be very lucky if he is
  not paying money out of his pocket to work on this job!
