[SBE] How long did it take you to move the studio

I have been involved in two projects like this.
One was moving 4 stations and a satellite network from 2 different
buildings into a remodeled insurance claims office. There was one person
(Dir. of Eng.) that put more time than humanly possible into it, with
two others helping on a part time basis. As I remember this took
approximately a year.
The other project involved completely remodeling an existing building
with 2 radio stations in it (keeping them on the air the whole time) and
moving 3 more into it from another location. Practically the same crew,
heavier workload, and 2+ years.
Lesson learned.....Have a plan that everyone (management, et. al.) can
and will adhere to within reason, and have enough people able to focus
on only that project. It tends to cause problems when people are pulled
off of the project to extinguish fires in other parts of the company on
a regular basis. Focus is lost, communication tends to fragment, and the
finest planning goes out the window to try to cut corners to make up for
lost time. This costs a whole lot more in the long run.
Disclaimer: This did NOT happen with my current employer.
