Al Gore did propose doing just such a telly tax. It did not get past the WH legal folks as such a tax on 'free (belongs to the public)" airwaves is considered to be an unnecessary burden to the excersize of free speech. It is thus considered to be unconsitutional and the WH strongly advised Gore to NOT go down that road. Instead, he directed his attempt at taxation to the Internet, cable and telephone providers.Edwin Bukont CSRE, DRB, CBNT Comm-Struction and Services LLC V- 410.879.5567 F- 410.272.5750 C- 240.417.2475 ebukont at msn.com A Harris Broadcast Channel Partner

We already have cable TV taxes, satellite TV taxes, telephone taxes, 911 taxes, universal service taxes ad nauseum. Henry
