Considering the health care, quality of life, quality of food, quality of sanitation 90 years ago vs today, the circumstances are apples and oranges. Few countries had good sanitation, sewers, waste treatment and filth in the streets was the norm. The open pipes to the street from bathroom and kitchen are still called French drains. All the hubbub today is for political reasons. Mexico has reported a decrease in new cases.
