My favorite Sunday nite travel listen is 60 minutes on WCBS 880 AM NYC.
Might be on some other CBS AMers...WBZ, KYW, as well.
Guess who owns the rights?

Highlight is on the hour ID:
"This is WCBS, WCBS HD and WCBS FM HD3 New York."

Makes me feel like a chump only listening on AM anaolg.
But it's a great signal for most of the I-81 drive thru the Shenandoah Valley
AND SEEMS TO BE WHAT'S IN THE CAR!!

Aside from the NWR issue, I think the full time rebroadcast of a local TV
station's audio on HD3 would probably run into affiliate contractual issues
particularly when that TV station is running network programming. This is
unfortunate because a lot of TV shows can translate reasonably well to
"audio only". Among the "cable only" channels, for example, I regularly
listen to CNN or Fox News audio via XM or Sirius. I could see myself doing
the same for most local OR network news and talk shows without losing too
much.

I am looking into the NWR on HD3 issue right now....I know that there are
locations where you find dedicated Noaa Weather on normal FM channels.
If a TV broadcaster were willing to trade something for HD3 carriage of
their audio this could be a nice plus for the radio station, not sure how
the TV would view the addition of the HD3 channel, especially in light of
the limited number of receivers out there.
