I would suspect the RX antenna, even you said it checked OK.  If you hook a spectrum analyzer to it, does the RX signal and other nearby signals vary?  How about any other new obstructions in the path?  A bad jumper would also cause an intermittent problem like that.

  Forgot to mention, took RX to studio, made a wire dipole antenna and rx was stable with signal level between -50 and -85 (changed by moving antnena) with no variances over 24 hrs.  So problem seems site specific.
