[SBE] [SPAM]Re: Broadcasting 'Wiki'

Hi All,

My goal is not only to learn the art and science of broadcast engineering,
but to serve the broadcasting community in any way that I can. I would be
willing to step up to the plate and take this project on...but I need to
know a few things first.

1. would this be something that the broadcasting engineering community would
use.
2. I think that the Wiki should be open to the public, but only members of
SBE or its employees could submit or change articles.
3. I would probably need some IT assistance to get this off the
ground...would anyone out there be willing to help?

I would suggest looking at the page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_engineering to get an idea of what I
am thinking of setting up.

Kick the idea around, let me know. As many of you know I am still a student
and unable to work in the industry right now due to a shoulder injury (even
though I am a CBT)...so right now time is something that I have. If this is
something that would benefit the broadcast engineering as a whole then I am
willing to take on the project.

Thanks

Russ

Subject: [SPAM]Re: [SBE] Broadcasting 'Wiki'

The idea of starting an SBE-hosted broadcast engineering wiki was suggested
at least three years ago, but no one ever stepped up to take it on. That's
one of the problems we, as a volunteer society, have. Lots of ideas, but not
lots of volunteers or project champions.

Russ, if you want to take on starting one for the SBE, I'm pretty sure you
could get the support of the SBE and the IT Strategies Committee.

And just because someone already has one doesn't mean another one can't be
created. If there is already one radio station in town, why start another
one, right?
