[SBE] Visio for broadcast equipment?

I go to UCLA extension for several classes. The school has absolutely
smoking deals on a number of useful Microsoft products.

 

Enroll in a class at your local university or extension program, polish some
skills or learn some new ones and get good deals on some MS products!

Thanks. I may tap into the board's suggestions as my friend can get me a
cheap, unlimited version of Visio 2010 Pro. I was going to go another route
but this is too good to pass up.

Generally if I am importing a CAD into Visio for say a floor plan I export
the CAD as an image (bmp, wmf) and use it as a base in Visio to draw over.

Henry,

I haven't found that any work better with CAD.  The only difference are the
extras like gantt charts, etc.

If you go to the Microsoft web site, the "compare features" is pretty
helpful.  I've used the early Visio (think it was 2005), 2007, and am now
running on a beta of 2010.  I really think 2007 was easier than '10, but '10
adds more bells and whistles.

Which version(s) are best to support CAD-like uses- Standard, Pro, Premium?

They are not that organized or being updated regularly. But that said... if
people want to upload their stencils we can throw up a page on the site for
stencils and have them all up for shared download. It could be a
consolidated pool for broadcast related stencils and save redundancy of
effort in people recreating the same stencils over and over.
