... definitely not a scope probe - you can see red/yellow/green LED's through the tinted window openings, and a pushbutton on the side.

That's not an official 9100 probe, not fat enough. Does have correct DB15 
on end, maybe someone rewired a scope probe. Fluke probe is clearly marked 
9100A-PROBE
