Fellow Town Meeting Members,

With warrant season upon us, I thought it might be useful to share with
you a warrant article before I submit it for inclusion in the warrant.
The purpose for this is to solicit your feedback in hopes of improving
the article early in the process and hopefully facilitate its eventual
consideration as a Town Meeting vote. Here it is:

--Posting of Meeting and Hearing Notices and Agendas on the Town Web
Site--
To see if the Town will vote to amend its Bylaw to require that no later
than the earliest time Town boards, committees, and commissions post
notice of their meetings and hearings in accordance with state and local
open meeting laws, they also post notice of such meetings and hearings
in the calendar section of the Town web site. An agenda for each
meeting and hearing shall be posted to the Town web site and linked to
the notice of the meeting not less than 24 hours before the meeting or
hearing is scheduled to begin. For hearing notices that are published
in a local newspaper, the full text of such notices shall be posted to
the Town web site and linked to the notice of the hearing no later than
the time of publication in the local newspaper. Posting of the full
text of a hearing notice published in a local newspaper shall be deemed
to fulfill the requirement for posting an agenda provided that no other
business is to be conducted by the board, committee, or commission
before or after the hearing; or take any action related thereto.

Please send any comments you may have to me at the email address below.
I'll hold off till next Wednesday on finalizing the text and gathering
signatures. Thanks for considering this.

Happy New Year!
