Come get wet this Sunday on Composer's Voice!

On Sunday August 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM Composer’s Voice concert series in
collaboration with Vision of Sound is proud to present PUBLIQuartet.
PUBLIQuartet will be performing the music of Igor Stravinsky, Nick Revel,
Anton Webern, and Marc Mellits

Formed in 2010, PUBLIQuartet injects fresh perspective into the world of
Classical music. Graduates of The Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music,
and Mannes College of Music, each member contributes to a collective
background in classical, jazz, world and electro acoustic performance. They
aim to present music from the classical cannon, contemporary compositions,
and open-form improvisations which extend the stylistic norms of the
traditional string quartet. PUBLIQuartet has been presented by the Norwalk
Symphony Orchestra, the “Ear Heart Music” series, and were the featured
artists for the Socrates Sculpture Park's annual Gala, supporting their
endeavor to encourage “strong interaction between artists, artworks and the
public.” They have performed at such venues as Lincoln Center, the WMP
Concert Hall, Cornelia Street Cafe, Norwalk Symphony Hali, and numerous
historical community spaces in NYC. PQ supports their artistic community by
presenting New York City’s emerging and established composers, as well as
providing educational workshops to teach string improvisation. Members of PQ
have worked with the Juilliard, Manhattan, Miró, Orion, Borromeo, and Muir
String Quartets. This season, PQ will be the featured artists in the
"Composer's Voice" concert series, "Harlem House Concerts", and the Queens
College New Music composer's concert.

The Vision of Sound concerts are a collaboration between composers,
choreographers, dancers and musicians to produce new choreographic works
with live music written by composers primarily within the last five years.
The pieces on the concerts all reflect the most current aesthetic
sensitivities of the representative composers and choreographers. The
dancers and musicians are sincerely committed to the promotion and
performance of new work by living composers and choreographers.
