60x60 Images will be presented in conjunction with the opening of the 24th
Annual Minumental Show Art Academy of Cincinnati. The opening is from 5:30PM
until 10:00PM on Friday, February 18th.

60x60 Images takes on the format of the project undertaken over many years
by the American musician Robert Voisey in the field of electronic music.
Voisey’s project is a work in progress – he has invited 60 artists to each
compose an electronic piece which lasts no more than 60 seconds in order to
create a single composition which lasts 60 minutes.

60x60 Images is the counterpart for visual artists. Moving from the temporal
nature of music to the metric scale, each artwork is created to measure
60x60 centimeters.

Who are the artists?
Forty were selected from a call for works which required a difficult
selection to be made from 221 works coming from 26 countries around the
globe. Twenty additional artists were invited to participate in 60x60 Images
in part because they have already participated in the festival. In addition,
they were invited because they are artists selected for their regional
profiles in the contemporary art scene.

60x60 Images was created by Edition Taukay in Udine, Italy. This
presentation is hosted by the Art Academy of Cincinnati and produced by
Music Under Construction, in association with 60x60, its founder Rob Voisey,
and Vox Novus with support from ArtsWave.

The 'informal' presentation(s) will start at 5:30 and continue, looped, for
the duration of the event. The 'formal' presentation will start at 6:00PM.
It will be on a large screen in the AAC lecture hall in a darkened setting,
treated as more of a performance. Like the informal presentations, it will
be looped.

For this event we are using the Crimson Mix
