[Voxnovus] Calling Choreographers for 60 second dances for 60x60 Dance to perform at New York City's Dance Parade!

Hello!  60x60 Dance is preparing to take flight at this year's Dance Parade!
This will be our first themed 60x60 Dance where we are looking for both
aerial dancers and ground dancers who incorporate flight, weightlessness, or
a related topic (or antithesis) into their choreography.  60x60 Dance will
interlace aerial dance with ground dance in a beautiful tapestry that will
take place in New York's Tompkins Square Park on May 21st, 2011.  All
choreographers who submit to participate in 60x60 at Dance Parade will also
be considered for another 60x60 performance at Galapagos Art Space on July
29th.   Deadline to submit for 60x60 Dance is April 15th, 2011.

CALL FOR DANCERS, CHOREOGRAPHERS & PERFORMERS - 60x60 New York 
 
60x60 Dance is seeking choreographers, dancers and aerial performers to
participate in the upcoming 60x60 Dance event as part of Dance Parade's
Dance Fest in New York on Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Tompkins Square Park.

Eclectic by nature, 60x60 Dance offers an unmatched diversity of styles,
making for a fast-speed, electrifying one-of-a-kind performance that never
ceases to surprise. Dances will span all forms from tribal to ballet to
hip-hop to ballroom and contemporary, while music includes neo-romantic,
folk, tech-house, noise, rock and everything but the kitchen sink. This
year's 60 x 60 performers will take to the air, as the show will incorporate
both a diverse mix of "ground" dance styles and a variety of aerial dancers
performing on apparatus such as silks, corde lisse, lyra, and trapeze. 
 
60x60 Project is a one-hour-long show made by sequencing 60 pre-recorded
pieces by 60 different composers, each piece a minute in length or shorter.
For 60x60 dance events, each selected performer/group will be invited to
create a one-minute performance to one of the 60 compositions. The 60
performances will be joined to create a non-stop 1 hour show.

If selected, all groups and individuals will be required to be available for
the performance Saturday, May 21st, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM as well as
for a full run-through and dress rehearsal on Sunday May 8th from 1pm - 5pm,
with a rain date of Sunday May 15th from 1pm - 5pm, location TBD. 
 
Rehearsal is to be conducted on an individual level.

PLEASE NOTE 
Choreographers who submit to 60x60 Dance in 2010, if selected will be
required to rehearse their work on an individual level and attend one full
group rehearsal taking place in the afternoon on Sunday May 8th from 1pm -
5pm, with a rain date of Sunday May 15th from 1pm - 5pm, location TBD.
