February 12, 2012 (NEW YORK, NEW YORK) Vox Novus, in collaboration with the
Remarkable Theater Brigade and Jan Hus Church present:
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame: 15 new pieces by 15 composers performed in 15
minutes! This is the third time Shiau-uen Ding has participated in
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame and perhaps it will be her last; this themed 15
performance will feature works for the End-of-the-World.

Pianist Shiau-uen Ding was called a “daredevil” by the New York Times for
her performance at Bang on a Can Marathon and “a powerful force on the new
music scene” by Array for her performance at Spark Festival in Minneapolis.
She has collaborated with internationally renowned performers and composers,
including Steve Reich, Michael Kugel, George Tsontakis, who refers to her
performance of his Ghost Variations as a “monster performance,” and Moritz
Eggert, who dedicated his Hämmerklavier XIX: Hymnen der Welt (Afghanistan
bis Zimbabwe) to her.

15-Minutes-of-Fame: Shiau-uen Ding: 15 one-minute works composed
specifically for Shiau-uen Ding, piano with electronics: premiering works
with end-of-the-world themes by composers: Christopher Bailey; Paul
SanGregory; Francesco Di Fiore; Stanley M. Hoffman; Iman Habibi; John
Gibson; Eric Lyon; Bert Van Herck; Akmal Parwez; John G. Bilotta; Mark Neal;
Nolan Stolz; Murray Gross; Sergio Naddei; Turkar Gasimzada.

This concert also features Paolo Marchittini’s Seven Deadly Sins for string
quartet with Shelby Yamin, violin; Hayne Kim, violin; Midori Witkoski,
viola; and Vivian Chang, cello.

Cutting edge End-of-the-world electronic pieces by Welton Barker, Andy
Cohen, Douglas DaSilva, Jason Ulysses DaSilva, Chris Vaisvil, and Robert
Voisey,

Composer, filmmaker, Artistic Director, Douglas DaSilva’s compositions have
been described as “very individual, and to us has a very clear personality”
by Duozona (Classical Guitar Magazine). His violin works were featured on
2011 Vox Novus in Romania series. His electronics works have been featured
in the 60x60 series throughout the world.

Italian composer and clarinetist Paolo Marchettini’s works have been
featuried in concert halls in Europe the United States. Paolo returns to
Composer’s Voice for his Seven Deadly Sins to compliment the April 2011
performance of his Four Angels.

Chris Vaisvil is a 12 tet and microtonal composer who works with acoustic
and electronic instruments. Chris says "My art is about now and is a
response to the inspiration I feel from the visual, musical, poetic, and
literary art of 20th and 21st centuries as well as world events.

“With few opportunities and much competition, young composers show
creativity in just getting heard.” And in Chris Pasles’s article in the Los
Angeles Times, Robert Voisey is highlighted as one of those composers. "The
word ‘viral,’ comes to mind as a trendy but disquietingly accurate image for
Robert Voisey’s infectious enthusiasm. He is always ready to mutate and
reinfect the process as indicated to maintain the highest degree of project
fever" -60x60: netsuke for the musical mind, Richard Arnest, Sounding Board
