On April 26, 2025 2:00 PM EDT (UTC-5) Composer's Voice is set to highlight
the innovative residency of composer and guitarist Charlie Rauh at the
Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Veterinary Medicine, culminating
in his album, Theoria. This episode delves into Rauh's unique integration
of music within a veterinary academic setting and the creation of
compositions inspired by his experiences.

During his five-week residency in August and September 2023, Rauh immersed
himself in the daily routines of veterinary clinicians and their patients
at LSU Vet Med. This immersive experience led to the composition of 13
miniature songs for solo guitar and members of the LSU A Cappella Choir,
resulting in the album Theoria, released by Destiny Records in December
2023.

Composer's Voice offers viewers an intimate look into Rauh's creative
process, his interactions within the LSU Vet Med community, and the
profound impact of integrating art into scientific environments. The
episode underscores the therapeutic and unifying power of music across
diverse disciplines.

Composer's Voice is dedicated to presenting contemporary composers and
their works, providing audiences with insights into the creative journeys
of artists like Charlie Rauh. This episode not only celebrates Rauh's
residency but also emphasizes the innovative initiatives of institutions
like LSU Vet Med in fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.

Composer's Voice showcases full contemporary works from living composers by
musicians who champion new music.

Sanctuary Sounds invites you to an extraordinary musical experience where
centuries-old traditions meet modern innovation. This unique concert
features music that blends traditional Japanese Gagaku with newly composed
works, performed by a remarkable trio of artists who specialize in both
ancient and contemporary musical forms.

Ryuteki player Lish Lindsey, hichiriki player Thomas Piercy, and sho player
Fabio Rambelli bring the mystique and elegance of Gagaku into a new realm.
With deep roots in this ancient Japanese court music and a passion for
contemporary expression, these performers breathe new life into
time-honored instruments.

The program includes compelling new works written especially for this
ensemble by composers Jean-Patrick Besingrand, Masatora Goya, Allen Schulz,
and Frances White. In addition, audiences will experience original
compositions by the performers themselves—Lindsey, Piercy, and
Rambelli—demonstrating the trio’s unique artistic vision and versatility.

The concert also features selections from their acclaimed debut CD, New
Heritage, further highlighting the seamless blend of past and present that
defines their sound. This event is more than a concert—it's a journey
through time, culture, and sonic exploration.

Join us in Bloomfield for this immersive and unforgettable performance.
Sanctuary Sounds offers a rare opportunity to witness the fusion of ancient
instruments with modern compositions in an intimate and resonant setting.
