CONTEMPORARY ART MUSIC PROJECT (CAMP) will host its annual international
new music festival CAMPGround25 from March 13 to 15, 2025.

CAMP is excited to announce Chihchun Chi-sun Lee as the CAMPGround25
Commissioned Composer!Taiwanese-American composer, CHIHCHUN CHI-SUN LEE’s
works were described as “eye-openingly, befittingly, complex, but rather
arresting to hear” by Boston Globe, “exploring a variety of offbeat
textures and unusual techniques” by Gramophone and “eastern techniques
blended with sophisticated modern writing style” by “Amadeus” Il mensile
della grande musica.

The second night, CAMPGround25 presents electroacoustic harp, Tampa's
street dance group Disfunktionals, duets, two world premieres, and
different ensemble works at Tampa's unique gallery, Red Door No.5

CAMPGround25 Third Day NoonSaturday, March 15 at 12pm
Seminole Heights Garden Center

This noon time concert offers a relaxed program with chamber music and
duets in an intimate setting, plus a world premiere and intercultural
ensemble music!

Asians lack presence. Asians take up apologetic space. We don’t even have
enough presence to be considered real minorities. We’re not racial enough
to be token. We’re so post-racial we’re silicon. - Cathy Park Hong, from

Eunmi Ko describes herself as a "stereotypical Asian woman, ... subdued and
demure, in other words, 'muted.' ... a muted person without vivid colors.
Naturally, a muted person’s voice wouldn’t be heard."

Ms. Ko sought out composers who identify and experience this 'muted'
feeling that asian musicians experience in the United States. Works
commmisioned for this project include: "Reflections" by Anruo Cheng;
"approaching somber waves" by Chen-Hui Jen; and "Me-Ah-ri" by Grace Ann Lee.

This episode of Composer's Voice features Eunmi Ko and Chen-Hui Jen.

Composer's Voice showcases full contemporary works by musicians who
champion new music from living composers.

Episodes of Composer's Voice air its half-hour show every 2 weeks on
Saturday at 2:00 PM EST (UTC-5) on NYC cable access TV with Manhattan
Neighborhood's Network channel 2.

The closing concert happens in a new music salon, CAMPGround in East Tampa.
This unusual event offers audience a rare opportunity to mingle with
musicians. The open mic invites all people to present their artistic voices
with any means. All are welcome!
