Friday - Composers Concordance - 21st Century Solo Electric Guitar

Composer's Voice is now a bi-weekly half hour TV show. This week's episode
will be presenting Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame with Dance featuring Yumi

On Friday, September 12th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., Composers Concordance, in
collaboration with Vox Novus, presents 21st Century Solo Electric Guitar—an
electrifying evening celebrating the modern possibilities of one of music’s
most iconic instruments.

This bold program showcases new works by leading contemporary composers
Peter Jarvis, Jane Getter, Milica Paranosic, Gene Pritsker, David Shohl,
and Robert Voisey, alongside world-spanning voices from the Vox Novus Short
Guitar Compositions Competition winners: Nantenaina Andriamorasata
(Madagascar) and Rodrigo Baggio (Brazil).

Featured performances include:

Extreme Whisper by Jane Getter, performed in a rare duet with Gene Pritsker.

Duet for (One) by Milica Paranosic.

Two Ballades for guitar by Gene Pritsker.

Gene Pritsker, an eclectic composer and guitarist whose works span over
1,000 compositions, brings his unmistakable fusion of genres to the stage.
His career includes collaborations with jazz fusion legend Joe Zawinul,
orchestrations for major Hollywood films (Cloud Atlas, The Matrix
Resurrections), and leadership roles in innovative music ensembles.

Admission is free, and the concert will also be live-streamed via Composers
Concordance’s Facebook page for audiences worldwide.

Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame – Toy Piano & Dance with Yumi Suehiro

Part of the Queens New Music Festival

Composer’s Voice proudly presents the first set of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame
featuring pianist Yumi Suehiro on toy piano, joined by choreographer/dancer
Rachael Kosch and an extraordinary ensemble of dancers. This program
showcases 15 one-minute compositions, each paired with original
choreography, as part of the Queens New Music Festival.

Born in Osaka, Japan, Yumi Suehiro began her musical journey at age six and
quickly earned acclaim with numerous competition wins, including the Kobe
International Competition as its youngest winner. A graduate of the
Manhattan School of Music with a Master of Music under Zenon Fishbein and
Peter Vinograde, Suehiro has performed internationally at festivals such as
Darmstädter Ferienkurse and Sound of Stockholm, and as a core member of
Ensemble Mise-en, notably performing Ligeti’s Piano Concerto in 2017.
Dedicated to education, she has also served on the faculty of Lehman
College Continuing Education.

"persistence of melancholy"

Internationally acclaimed pianist Eunmi Ko returns to the stage with FOR
EUNMI, a deeply personal project that celebrates her long-standing
collaborations and friendships with composers through solo piano works
written for her. Presented at Bowling Green State University on September
14 at 8:00 PM, the program features the poignant Persistence of Melancholy
by Robert Voisey alongside the world premieres of Suite, Little Suite, Le
rêve caché, and TATTOO.

Praised as “exceedingly interesting” (New York Concert Review) and
“kaleidoscopic” (San Francisco Classical Voice), Ko is recognized
internationally as both a powerful interpreter and a champion of new music.
She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and Herbst Theater, and
has appeared on releases with Neuma Records, Innova, Ravello, and Centaur.

call is part of a 15 year anniversary of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame.
