The Department of Interactive Media in the Slane College of Communications
and Fine Arts at Bradley University seeks a dynamic, imaginative, and
collegial interactive media collaborator with cutting edge art and
technology, web development and mobile application skills to join our
creative team on a tenure-track line beginning August 2012.

The ideal candidate for this full time tenure-track position will be
technologically sophisticated and knowledgeable in the practice of art and
technology with experience in producing small and large-scale interactive
projects via a variety of modalities. This position would provide
leadership, advocacy and curriculum leadership for the Web and Application
Design concentration.

Responsibilities:

Teach production and theory courses in interactive media as assigned that
may include beginning and advanced web programming, mobile device
programming, interactive theory, interactive installations and produce new
media creative production; collaborate with faculty and students to develop
unique interactive media projects that further the mission and vision of
excellence of the Department of Interactive Media; assist in recruiting,
mentoring, and advising interactive media majors and minors; and advance the
department¹s mission, goals, and activities.

Qualifications:

Required: M.F.A or Ph.D. in interactive media or art and technology
discipline. Ideal candidates will be firmly grounded in new media
interactive production and have a history of producing compelling
interactive works in collaborative environments. Candidates should have
experience concepting, designing, producing and delivering media and
intermedial works for the web and other platforms as well as procedural and
object oriented programming applied to the production of interactive
experiences delivered via the web, mobile devices, interactive television,
and other modalities.

Preferred: Teaching experience at the collegiate level within an interactive
or new media based department or curriculum. Professional experience using
media production tools including, the Adobe Suite, video acquisition,
editorial and compression software, and project management software is also
desirable. Specific experience using Flash Actionscript 3.0 programming,
Processing, Javascript, C++, C#, Open Frameworks, PHP, MySQL, Linux, Python,
terminal scripting, version control systems (SVN), and Apache is highly
desirable.
