thank you very much for help
yes I know najwa. our flowcytometry services at KHMC is the largest but still no proper training for the cytometrist specially for CD40 ligand assay on activated cells and also burst test in addition to memory cell study. as far as HIGM I would be grateful if you have time to review our datatotal number of possible cases(c/p, low igg, iga, n or h igm, neutropenia, cryptosporidium, no specific antibodies, normal lymphocyet subsets): 8 death: one, succesful BMT done by me: 4 the last one was with haploidentical sibling by positive CD34 selection she is now day 48 chimerism 50% all are in very good general condition, one beyond transplant( no donor, TB, necrotizing fascitis, sclerosing cholangitis), 2 on conservative treatment*both males first baby*no donor
so how can you help to establish this activity at king hussein mecical services. by the way this clinic is the largest and may be the only clinic for PID total diagnosis since 2000 is 189 cases usrvival rate is 62% till 2008. othe successful BMT done by me is 3 with LADI.. so I would be grateful if some body can help us this will be a national clinic.. waite for your help
thank you

Dear Dr. Adel M. Al-wahadneh

We have developed a flow cytometry based Hyper IgM (CD40-ligand deficiency) assay (attached) here in Chicago and I have helped several laboratories around the world to set up this test.

Since it would be difficult for my laboratory to test your patients (as viable samples are required and it might be difficult to get your samples into the United States and to my laboratory in less than 72 hours) it might be best if you set up the test locally.

I helped the Ministry of Health in Kuwait set this up. Last week I met Prof. Najwa Khuri-Bulos from the Jordan Univesity Hospital at a conference in Kuwait where I discussed the utility of the flow based assays for diagnosis of Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases, perhaps you know her.

Please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards

Dr. O’Gorman
