[SBE] Who is Radiotime.com?

You say they are carrying the ad insertions, but how are you able to tell your advertisers how many people heard the spots they bought? Are you not selling banner ads on your site? Don't you care if they're not compensating you for the use of your intellectual property?

It's important to see it from your customer's (the listener) point of view.

I don't care where they get my audio from, as long as they're listening to my audio. With all the different ways to play audio, Radiotime actually helps us by formatting the stream to play on a bunch of different platforms as opposed to just one. Now they can listen on portable devices instead of being tethered to a computer.

The old wisdom was that by forcing stations to go to your site for the stream, you get the "hit".

The reality is that if that's what you have to do to get the "hit" then your site has problems. We actually removed the requirement to sign in to get our stream just to make it easier to get!

The stream from Radiotime includes the ad-insertion, so we're really not losing. Look at it this way...if people are getting your stream from Radiotime, there's probably a good reason.

Our TV station is being streamed by a company along with about a dozen others to cell phones and internet, at no cost to us. Why would I complain about that? Sure saves me money doing it. I expect they will stream our radio station when we take over in a few weeks from current owner.
