Steve Thomas has worked in the past as the radio voice of the Seattle
Seahawks and has lately broadcasted the Pacific Lutheran University Lute's
football games. Perhaps you can at least listen to him online when the
division 3 college season begins.

Subject: [SBE] Steve Thomas @ BSW

Steve Thomas has "disappeared" from the sales dept. at Broadcast Supply
Worldwide (www.bswusa.com <http://www.bswusa.com/> ). I've been working
with Steve for about 15 years and find the loss of him a huge negative
impact. Steve, for me, made a huge difference by being incredible at
customer service and support.

I would invite any others who know Steve or have benefited from his customer
support to contact BSW to voice their displeasure with losing Steve. I
inquired but received no response whether Steve left or was let go, which
certainly leads me to believe he was let go.

I think our suppliers and manufacturers need to know when they impact us
through changes in gear (design/discontinue), changes in support, or changes
in our reps. We need to stand up for each other to make sure good people
are treated right.

I've copied my email to BSW below. It was sent to their president, general
sales address, and customer support address.

Respectfully,

Dan Slentz

I wanted to email your company to let you know that I'm greatly disappointed
to hear Steve Thomas is no longer with BSW. Steve and I started working
together when I was AV Manager at The Longaberger Company in Ohio back in
1997. He then supplied most of the gear for WNHS LPFM in Newcomerstown, OH
through our association. With WHIZ AM/FM/TV in Zanesville, OH, WSFL TV in
Fort Lauderdale, FL, KERA TV/FM & KKXT FM in Dallas, and now with KOB TV in
Albuquerque, Steve was always there to assist me.

I want to be frank to say that it was Steve, and not BSW that made the
difference in the sale. His customer service was excellent, and he was
attentive to his customers. I would think that Steve would have contacted
me if he were leaving on his own accord, so I can only assume some bonehead
in your company is blind to the value of excellent customer service and let
him go. I really do hope he left on his own accord and, if so, apologize
for calling someone there a "bonehead".

I'm just such a strong believer in customer service (and push the book
"Raving Fan: A Revolutionary Approach to Customer Service" by Ken
Blanchard), that losing Steve for my resources pushes me to return to
Broadcaster's General Store (who sometimes had better pricing than Steve,
but I valued his service enough to give him the order).

Steve is a huge loss for BSW and for those of use who have counted on his
incredible customer service over the years.

Sincerely,

Dan Slentz
